Swico Recycling is a neutral, non-profit committee of the Swiss Economic Association for the Suppliers of Information, Communication and Organizational Technology. Swico Recycling focuses on appliances in the fields of computing, consumer electronics, office equipment, telecommunications, the printing industry as well as measuring and medical instruments, such as copiers, printers, televisions, MP3 and MP4 players, mobile phones, cameras, etc.

The Swiss Foundation for Practical Environmental Protection Pusch educates people on how to act responsibly with regard to the environment. It organises courses and environmental teaching, launches campaign days, offers purchasing tips on green products, and designs strategies for the environmental protection of tomorrow.

The Basel Convention on the Control of Transboundary Movements of Hazardous Wastes and Their Disposal, dated 22 March 1989, is also known as the Basel Convention. This international environmental convention came about after the revelation of serious abuses in the transfer of hazardous waste to developing countries.

Solving the E-waste Problem (StEP) is an international initiative under the auspices of the United Nations University (UNU), which not only includes key players involving the manufacturing, reuse and recycling of electrical and electronic equipment, but also government and international organisations. Three additional UN organisations are members of the initiative.

The WEEE Forum (Forum for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) is the European association of 41 systems for collecting and recycling electrical and electronic waste. Its task is to provide and maintain a centre of excellence to promote cooperation and dialogue on tried-and-tested practices. The SENS Foundation is a founding member of the WEEE Forum and presided over it for four years from 2012.
